lenkisem fundraising

lenkisem matanyok association are happy to announce that we are helding afund raising on 18 august and not 11 as it had been announce eallier and on other hand we are having a strong fight against f.g.m that some girls are runing away from their homes,as their parents are forcing them to undergo the operation the chairman of our associstion is trying to consult the church to come in to give us support to get a home that will take care of our students welcome all and help lenkisem

helping my community

on 26 april we had a meeting with the whole community to teach them the rights of our young girls and lucky enough we were able to inform them the dangers behind f.g.m and now we are calling apon good wishers to help us to educate them some are still going on with the operation that was our main agenda also as lema association we are having our harambee or fund raising to bult a community library eare glad for your comments and we are looking forward to hear your suggestion that will help as to have a way forward to create afree society in maasai land and also to assist them to know the dangers of hiv and aids yours sincerly thomas lekanayia tomlekanayias@yahoo.com

These are Lenkisem Matanyok Youth Group's Aims and Objectives:

1) Promote the rights of the women, girl child and the less fortunate in the society;

2) Promote the awareness of HIV/AIDS menace;

3) Promote equal education for all;

4) Fight for the proper management of community resources;

5) Take measures to help to eradicate poverty;

6) Teach the community on other forms of investments;

7) Teach the people on the right skills of political participation;

8) Encourage conservation of wild animals;

9) Environmental awareness and preservation;

Our Youth Group is involved in the following Activities:

1) Adult education

2) Evening classes for children involved in looking after livestock during the day;

3) Drama groups in HIV/Aids Awareness;

4) Education fund to help those who can’t afford school fees, etc;

5) A microfinance Fund to help the Youth to start business;

6) Various visits to villages to help local people change their mentality regarding immorality, FGM, wife-beating;

7) Visits to the sick, the needy and old people;

Forthcoming Activities:

1) Building a community library and offices;

2) Fund-raising;

3) Poultry-keeping

4) Bee-keeping;
