the new project ahead this year

hello ladies and gentlemen, i would like to extend our vote of thanks to you all for the conrtibution and support through out since we started this project,and i would like to informed youn that our library centre is over we are now very proud to have manage to accquire a centre that we shall be using for our campaingns and meretings as well as for studies,again this year we are yet to start another project that has been accepted by all members to contribute some amount of money to fund those our sisters and brothers who want to go to colleges,during our executive meeting last weekend we came into agreement that once we contribute this money we shall be considering the most poor people in our group,and members will have to appoint the person to be given through voting to avoid bias or favourism also in cosideration are those girls who are against f.g.m this could be another way to fighrt the vice in all spheres of life,we are calling our friends and good wishers to contribute their ideas in this project in order to give us guidelines and methods of evaluating this issues,again your ideas will be of great help as we start,our motto is that we start and others follow,thank you very much for your support and guides as we move on to better the lives of others yours thomas lekanayia group vice chairman

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

i would like to entend our thanks to you all for your encouraging comments that enable us to come through,we have made some incredible development toward lenkisem community.now the youth have started a charitable cultural boma that has a hitorical bulding to store the old equipments of the maasai that will be of great help for those students in the field of pastoral archeology.besides,the hitorical issues the same boma will be assisting women groups to make jeweleries and sell at a recommendable price,this one of the ways of developing this community, as we approach december our youth group will participates on drama and dances to educate the community to stop female genital mutilation, again we appreciate your assistance and we are looking forward to hear from you. for more information on the cultural boma view http.www.lenkisem.wodpress.com

restoring the hope of lenkisem people

first and foremost is to extend thanks to all good wishers,we as a youth group we are greatful and more happy with yourcomments,they are so encouraging. as lenkisem is concern we are appealing to the government to support the youth.we are now experiencing lots of problem especially toward the month of december when young girls are being forced to undergo the f.g.m,early marrieges and gender insensitivity. we kindly requet for your comments as we overcome the problems

lenkisem matanyok association are happy to announce that we are helding afund raising on 18 august and not 11 as it had been announce eallier and on other hand we are having a strong fight against f.g.m that some girls are runing away from their homes,as their parents are forcing them to undergo the operation the chairman of our associstion is trying to consult the church to come in to give us support to get a home that will take care of our students welcome all and help lenkisem

on 26 april we had a meeting with the whole community to teach them the rights of our young girls and lucky enough we were able to inform them the dangers behind f.g.m and now we are calling apon good wishers to help us to educate them some are still going on with the operation that was our main agenda also as lema association we are having our harambee or fund raising to bult a community library eare glad for your comments and we are looking forward to hear your suggestion that will help as to have a way forward to create afree society in maasai land and also to assist them to know the dangers of hiv and aids yours sincerly thomas lekanayia tomlekanayias@yahoo.com

1) Promote the rights of the women, girl child and the less fortunate in the society;

2) Promote the awareness of HIV/AIDS menace;

3) Promote equal education for all;

4) Fight for the proper management of community resources;

5) Take measures to help to eradicate poverty;

6) Teach the community on other forms of investments;

7) Teach the people on the right skills of political participation;

8) Encourage conservation of wild animals;

9) Environmental awareness and preservation;

Our Youth Group is involved in the following Activities:

1) Adult education

2) Evening classes for children involved in looking after livestock during the day;

3) Drama groups in HIV/Aids Awareness;

4) Education fund to help those who can’t afford school fees, etc;

5) A microfinance Fund to help the Youth to start business;

6) Various visits to villages to help local people change their mentality regarding immorality, FGM, wife-beating;

7) Visits to the sick, the needy and old people;
